The Tamiya Mercedes-Benz Actros 1851 GigaSpace – 56335 brings one of Europe’s most recognisable modern tractor units to Tamiya’s impressive 1/14 scale RC truck range.

Based on the award-winning Mercedes-Benz Actros, this highly detailed assembly kit combines an accurately reproduced GigaSpace cab with a realistic truck chassis, leaf-spring suspension and Tamiya’s fully functional 3-speed transmission.

At 458mm long, the finished Actros makes an imposing model in its own right and becomes even more impressive when coupled to one of Tamiya’s compatible 1/14 scale semi-trailers.

Highly Detailed Mercedes-Benz Actros

Tamiya has faithfully recreated the distinctive styling of the full-size Actros 1851 GigaSpace using detailed ABS plastic body components.

From the imposing front grille and aerodynamic cab design to the lighting housings and scale detailing, the body provides an excellent base for creating either a realistic fleet vehicle or a fully customised show truck.

LED light buckets are incorporated into the model, allowing optional LEDs to be installed for even greater realism.

Working 3-Speed Transmission

One of the highlights of Tamiya’s 1/14 scale truck range is the mechanical 3-speed gearbox.

With a suitable 4-channel radio system and gear-change servo, the transmission can be shifted remotely while driving, giving the model three selectable gear ratios and adding considerably to the scale driving experience.

Power is supplied by the included 540-size motor and transmitted to the driven rear axle.

Realistic Truck Suspension

The Actros uses a float-mounted die-cast front axle together with a reinforced resin rear axle.

Metal leaf springs and aluminium friction dampers recreate the suspension layout of a full-size tractor unit, while the built-in differential allows the driven wheels to rotate at different speeds when cornering for smoother operation.

Ready for a Tamiya Semi-Trailer

A working fifth-wheel coupler allows the Actros to be connected to compatible Tamiya 1/14 scale semi-trailers, opening up plenty of possibilities for building your ideal articulated rig.
