Tamiya Scania R470 Highline Silver Edition 1/14 RC Tractor Truck Kit

The Tamiya Scania R470 Highline Silver Edition combines the classic European styling of Tamiya’s popular R470 with the added benefit of factory pre-painted exterior body components.

This special-edition version is ideal for builders who want the impressive appearance of a professionally finished Scania without having to undertake the main body painting themselves.

Underneath the silver bodywork you’ll find all the engineering that makes Tamiya’s 1/14 scale trucks so popular, including an aluminium ladder-frame chassis, realistic suspension, rear-wheel drive and a fully functional 3-speed transmission.

Factory Pre-Painted Silver Body

The main attraction of this special edition is its pre-painted silver exterior body components.

The factory-applied finish removes much of the work involved in painting such a large cab and provides an excellent starting point for either a clean factory-style truck or a more extensively customised build.

Highly Detailed Scania Highline Cab

Tamiya accurately recreates the aerodynamic shape of the Scania R470 Highline, with a realistic front grille featuring mesh material for additional scale detail.

The cab can also tilt forward separately from the fenders, just like the full-size Scania.

Both the inner and outer sections of the fenders are reproduced, helping give the completed truck an impressive level of realism.

Aluminium Ladder-Frame Chassis

Beneath the cab is Tamiya’s durable truck chassis, constructed using aluminium channels with resin cross members.

A front-mounted 540-size motor sends power through a propeller shaft to the driven rear axle. A pin-type propeller shaft joint helps minimise frictional losses through the drivetrain.

The rear axle incorporates a differential gear to provide smooth cornering.

Working 3-Speed Transmission

The Scania features Tamiya’s assembly-type 3-speed gearbox.

With suitable multi-channel radio equipment and a gear-change servo installed, the transmission can be shifted remotely while driving, adding another level of mechanical realism to the finished truck.

Realistic Truck Suspension

The front and rear suspension uses metal leaf springs combined with coil-spring dampers.

At the front, a durable die-cast metal axle is float-mounted on the suspension, while the rear uses a resin axle incorporating the differential.

Compatible with Tamiya Trailers

A fifth-wheel coupler is included, allowing the Scania to be connected to compatible Tamiya 1/14 scale semi-trailers.

The silver finish makes an excellent base for creating anything from a realistic European fleet vehicle to a fully customised show truck.

*A separate conventional ESC may not be required when using a compatible Tamiya Multi-Function Control system that provides motor speed control.
