The Tamiya Volvo FH16 Globetrotter XL 750 4×2 – 56375 brings one of Volvo’s flagship European tractor units to Tamiya’s highly detailed 1/14 scale RC truck range.

Based on the mighty Volvo FH16 Globetrotter XL, the model captures the imposing appearance of Volvo’s long-distance flagship, complete with its distinctive cab, detailed interior and additional custom truck accessories.

With a metal ladder-frame chassis, rear-wheel-drive 4×2 configuration and working 3-speed transmission, this is much more than a display model. Build it, customise it and pair it with one of Tamiya’s 1/14 scale trailers to create an impressive working RC rig.

Highly Detailed Volvo FH16 Cab

The large Globetrotter XL cab is faithfully reproduced using precision injection-moulded components, with photo-etched parts used to recreate the distinctive front grille.

Tamiya has also included a detailed interior featuring a modern-style dashboard and seats, plus a 1/14 scale driver figure to add even more realism to the finished truck.

Custom Truck Parts Included

One of the standout features of the 56375 kit is the selection of custom accessories supplied as standard.

These include parts to recreate:

• Roof bar with light pods
• Low bar
• Side bars

Compatible LEDs can also be installed separately, allowing you to add additional lighting to your custom Volvo build.

Realistic 4×2 Chassis

Just like the full-size tractor unit, the Tamiya Volvo FH16 uses a 4×2 chassis configuration, with drive going to the rear axle.

The motor and transmission are positioned towards the front of the metal ladder-frame chassis, helping recreate the mechanical layout and appearance of a full-size tractor truck.

Working 3-Speed Transmission

The model features Tamiya’s assembly-type 3-speed transmission, providing an additional level of mechanical realism.

When used with a suitable 4-channel radio system and gear-change servo, gears can be selected remotely from the transmitter, making the truck just as enjoyable to operate as it is to build.

Add the Tamiya MFC-03

For the full Tamiya truck experience, the Volvo FH16 can be upgraded with the separately available Tamiya MFC-03 Multi-Function Control Unit – 56523.

The MFC-03 adds a range of realistic functions including lighting, sound and vibration effects, transforming the finished model into an even more convincing scale truck.

The detailed cab interior has also been designed so that it can be installed together with the MFC-03 system.
