Measuring an imposing 538mm long, the Tamiya Actros combines superb scale detailing with a realistic aluminium ladder-frame chassis, twin rear axles, working 3-speed transmission and leaf-spring suspension.

Hook up a compatible Tamiya semi-trailer and the finished combination can stretch to over a metre in length, creating a seriously impressive RC truck.

Based on the Mercedes-Benz Actros 3363

The full-size Actros generation made its debut in 2011 and went on to win the International Truck of the Year 2012 award.

The mighty Actros 3363 uses a 15.6-litre inline six-cylinder turbo diesel engine, producing up to 630hp. Designed for serious heavy-haul applications, the real truck is capable of handling enormous loads.

Tamiya has recreated the distinctive modern styling of the Actros in impressive detail, making this an excellent choice for builders who want a European-style tractor unit with plenty of road presence.

Heavy-Duty Aluminium Chassis

Underneath the detailed GigaSpace cab sits Tamiya’s proven tractor-truck chassis.

Strong aluminium side channels are combined with resin crossmembers to form a durable ladder-frame construction capable of supporting the truck’s drivetrain, suspension and bodywork.

Realistic metal leaf-spring suspension further adds to the scale appearance and mechanical detail.

Working 3-Speed Transmission

The Actros isn’t simply designed to look like a real truck – its drivetrain adds another level to the experience.

Power from the front-mounted motor is transmitted through a 3-speed gearbox and propeller shaft to the driven rear axles.

With a suitable 4-channel radio system and servo setup, the gearbox can be shifted remotely while driving, allowing you to work through the gears just like a full-size truck.

Differential gearing helps provide smooth operation when cornering.

Ready to Haul

An integrated fifth-wheel coupler allows the Actros to be connected to compatible Tamiya 1/14 scale semi-trailers.
