Based on the Mighty Scania 770 S

Sitting at the top of Scania’s S Series, the full-size Scania 770 S is powered by a formidable 16.4-litre V8 turbo diesel engine producing 770hp.

Tamiya has faithfully recreated the distinctive appearance of this flagship Scania, from its modern aerodynamic cab to the detailed interior and realistic chassis underneath.

At 469mm long, 193mm wide and 315mm high, the completed model has plenty of presence while its 4×2 configuration gives it the classic proportions of a European tractor unit.

Realistic 4×2 Chassis

Just like the full-size Scania, the model uses a 4×2 chassis layout with a single steering front axle and single driven rear axle.

The motor and transmission are positioned towards the front of the chassis, replicating the basic mechanical layout of the real tractor unit.

This configuration also gives the truck a different appearance and driving character compared with Tamiya’s longer twin-rear-axle 6×4 tractor units.

Working 3-Speed Transmission

A proper 3-speed transmission forms part of the drivetrain and can be operated remotely when the truck is equipped with a suitable multi-channel radio system and servo setup.

Changing gear while driving adds another dimension to the model and is one of the features that makes Tamiya’s 1/14 tractor trucks so enjoyable to operate.

Detailed Cab and Interior

The attention to detail continues inside the Scania cab, with a modern dashboard, seats and interior components included.

A 1/14 scale driver figure is also supplied, adding another finishing touch to the completed truck.

A Carson Reflex 2 6-channel radio system is recommended as a suitable radio option.
