Part of Tamiya’s legendary 1/14 RC Tractor Truck Series, the 770 S combines superb scale detailing with a realistic 6×4 drivetrain, working 3-speed transmission, metal leaf-spring suspension and an impressive selection of scale accessories.

At 532mm long, 193mm wide and 307mm high, the completed Scania has serious road presence and makes an outstanding model whether it’s hauling a Tamiya semi-trailer or sitting proudly on display.

Based on Scania’s Mighty 770 S

The full-size Scania 770 S sits at the top end of Scania’s S Series and is powered by a formidable 16.4-litre V8 turbo diesel engine producing 770hp.

Tamiya has recreated the distinctive modern styling of this flagship Scania in impressive detail, capturing the imposing cab, grille and unmistakable appearance of the real truck.

The kit also includes detailed interior components such as the modern dashboard and seats, adding to the authenticity of the finished model.

Option Parts for an Even More Impressive Look

This version includes a selection of scale option parts to give the Scania an even more distinctive appearance.

These include a realistic:

• Roof bar with light pods
• Grille mini bar
• Low bar
• Side bars

Optional LEDs can also be installed to further enhance the lighting and appearance of the truck.

Realistic 6×4 Chassis

Underneath the detailed Scania body is a highly realistic double rear-axle 6×4 chassis, replicating the basic layout of the full-size truck.

The motor and transmission are mounted towards the front, with power transferred through the drivetrain to the rear axles.

A strong ladder-frame chassis uses aluminium side channels with plastic crossmembers, providing the rigidity required for a large RC tractor truck while maintaining an authentic scale layout.

A fifth-wheel coupler is also fitted, allowing the truck to be connected to compatible Tamiya 1/14 scale semi-trailers.

Working 3-Speed Transmission

One of the features that makes Tamiya’s tractor trucks so enjoyable to drive is the realistic 3-speed gearbox.

When used with a suitable 4-channel radio system, the transmission allows you to change gear remotely while driving, adding another layer of interaction and realism to the model.

Realistic Truck Suspension

The Scania uses metal leaf springs and friction dampers to reproduce the appearance and movement of a full-size heavy truck suspension system.

Combined with the substantial 6×4 chassis, this gives the completed model the mechanical detail and realistic stance expected from Tamiya’s premium tractor truck range.

Add the MFC-03 for the Ultimate Experience

For an even more realistic truck, the Scania 770 S is compatible with the separately available Tamiya MFC-03 Multi-Function Control Unit – 56523.
