Description

Flite Test Simple Scout – the Flite Test Simple Scout is a WWI-style park flyer speed build kit made from laser-cut Maker Foam, with a 952mm wingspan. Easy build, easy flying.

A quick build that can be upgraded for FPV and stalls gently with the wings level. Airframe only.

What you need to finish the Simple Scout

• Power: Flite Test Power Pack B Radial
• Servos: 2–4 x 9g
• Battery: 3S 1300mAh LiPo
• Propeller: 9×4.5
• A transmitter and receiver with at least 3 channels
• A hot glue gun and glue sticks, such as Flite Test 10in Hot Glue Sticks (1lb, 10 pcs)

Specifications are from Flite Test. The kit is the airframe only – electronics, battery and radio are sold separately.

Good to know

Flite Test speed-build kits come without electronics. You will also need a power pack, servos, a receiver, a propeller and a flight battery. For example, each kit’s plans list the power pack it calls for. Also, building is quicker with a low-temperature glue gun and a sharp hobby blade.

Getting the best from your Flite Test Simple Scout

• First, read through the plans before you start building.
• Then dry-fit each part before you glue it in place.
• Also, take care over the centre of gravity, as a plane that balances correctly is far easier to fly.
• Finally, choose calm weather and a large open field for your first flights.
