Description

Description

JP Obeche Strip, 3/8 x 1/2 x 36in – a genuine JP hardwood from J Perkins (part number 5520457). Effortlessly cut, shape, and sand this fine-grained Obeche strip (36in length) for smooth, crisp architectural details.

JP Obeche Strip

  • Size: Various
  • Length: 36in

Quality hardwood for model building – ideal for spars, engine bearers, dowels and other parts that need more strength than balsa.

Key features

  • Fine, even texture: smoother and more consistent than balsa, for crisp edges and clean detail.
  • Light yet tougher than balsa: a low-density hardwood that resists dents better than balsa while adding little weight.
  • Easy to work: cuts, planes and sands easily with standard hobby tools.
  • Takes glue and finishes well: bonds with PVA or superglue, and the pale surface accepts paints and stains evenly.
  • Wide range of uses: ideal for model aircraft, ship models, architectural frames, mullions, skirting and dioramas.
