JP Strip Spruce, 3/16 x 3/8 x 36in is a genuine JP spruce strip from J Perkins. Its part number is 5520546. The stronger, more rigid alternative to soft woods, essential for building durable, non-flexing airframe and model structures.

JP Spruce Strip

  • Thickness: Various
  • Width: Various
  • Length: 36in

Straight-grained spruce for model building. Stronger and stiffer than balsa, it is ideal for wing spars, longerons and structural parts that need extra strength.

Key features

  • Superior Structural Rigidity: Offers a stronger and more robust alternative to softer model woods, making it essential for load-bearing components and non-flexing airframe sections.
  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Provides excellent structural integrity and durability without adding excessive weight, ideal for high-performance model aircraft and marine builds.
  • Resilient Straight Grain: Features a consistent, tight-grained texture that resists warping and twisting, ensuring long-term stability in precision engineering projects.
  • Versatile Workshop Utility: A fundamental material for internal bracing, wing spars, and structural framing where maximum stiffness and impact resistance are required.
  • Excellent Adhesive Reception: The natural wood surface is highly compatible with standard wood glues, epoxies, and cyanoacrylates, facilitating a reliable and permanent bond.

In addition, JP products come from J Perkins, a UK model distributor since 1975. As a result, matching parts and accessories are easy to find. Also, check the related items below for things that are often bought with this one.
