Revell Steam Locomotive BRO3 & Tender 1/87 02166

The Steam Locomotive BRO3 & Tender, also known as the DRG Class 03, was a type of steam locomotive used in Germany. It was designed for high-speed passenger service and was built between 1930 and 1938 by several different manufacturers, including Henschel & Son, Krupp, and Schwartzkopff.

The BR03 was a 4-6-2 “Pacific” type locomotive, which means it had four leading wheels, six driving wheels, and two trailing wheels. It was a large and powerful locomotive, weighing around 109 metric tons and capable of producing up to 2,300 horsepower. It was also designed for high speed, with a maximum speed of around 130 km/h (80 mph).

In addition to its speed and power, the BR03 was known for its distinctive streamlined design, which helped to reduce wind resistance and improve its performance at high speeds. It was also known for its reliability and durability, which made it a popular choice for passenger service on German railways.

As for the tender, the BR03 was typically paired with a 2’2′ T34 type tender, which had a capacity of around 34 metric tons of water and 9 metric tons of coal. This allowed the locomotive to travel long distances without needing to stop for refueling.
