Modelled after the Schleicher ASK-21 two-seat sailplane (glider) the UMX ASK-21 is equipped with the latest AS3X technology and is the first ultra-micro non-powered sailplane.
What do you do with an ultra-micro sailplane? With a distinct lack of micro mountains from which to launch from the only answer is to either tow or bungee launch (hi-start) the model to a suitable altitude.
E-flite have equipped the ASK-21 with a built in tow hook release mechanism that allows the model to be towed to altitude by either the UMX Carbon Cub SS tow plane, or for solo flight they have included a Hi-start bungee launch system to gain altitude.
With built-in ASX3 technology the model is able to fly in such a smooth manner that it's easy to imagine that you are flying a larger model as the feel and response is very much different to non-AS3X models. In fact, the ASK-21 because of AS3X replicates the gentle flight performance of the full-size perfectly.
The UMX ASK 21 includes the new Ultra Micro high power series E-flite 1S 150 mAh 25C LiPo battery that supplies power to the pre-installed three Spektrum Ultra-Micro SA2030L servos; the two Spektrum SA2030L0 servos and the Spektrum AR6400 DSM2 6-channel ultra-micro receiver /ESC unit.
This delightful model will bring a whole new dimension to micro flying whether it is indoors in large halls or outdoors in calmer weather, flying alone, or with a friend towing behind the UMX Carbon Cub SS!
